When the children were growing up, Dorothy was involved in many different areas of volunteerism from Girl Scout Troops, Brownies to Seniors. She was active in the P.T.A. and served as President. She was also involved in many fundraisers and walks for the community.
In 1966, she started working in Newton Trust Company as a safe deposit attendant while attending nigh school courses in banking at the American Institute of Banking. She was the branch manager for 20 years and retired in 1996 as a Vice President of the bank. She was also member of Sussex County Business & Professional Women, serving as President and for 4 years and was a member of the Queen of Red Hats.
Spiritually, Dottie sang in the choir of Saint Joseph Church for 12 years, served as Reader in church and an Extra-Ordinary Eucharistic Minister at Newton Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She still serves as a Eucharistic Minister in church and is part of the Legion of Mary. She became a widow in 2003 when Charles died. Mr. Bosi’s Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Joseph Church and he was buried our cemetery.
Dottie’s juard d’vive and quick wit is a welcome addition to our parish family as she continues to serve as one of the Parish Trustees.
